Who We Are

Sue Crawford

CEO and Co-Founder

Sue is a registered nurse specialized in working with vulnerable young people. She works at the Alberta Children's Hospital with the Child & Adolescent Emergency Mental Health team, teaches Pediatric Nursing and Health Promotion at Bow Valley College, and is on the Board of Directors at Calgary Quest School. A Master of Nursing student at the University of Calgary, Sue is studying the impact of disability in family units. She has nearly a decade of experience in the disabilities community, most notably with Between Friends as the Camp Director of Camp Fun'zAmust at Easter Seals Camp Horizon over the past five summers. She is also a support worker for three young adults with disabilities.

Michael Purdy

COO and Co-Founder

Michael has always wanted to provide health care solutions for individuals, but took a different route than Sue, in the form of a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. His passion for connecting people and creating community drives his desire to find a social solution to the problems of isolation that many families affected by disabilities experience.

Hailee Crawford

Community Ambassador

As a first-year undergraduate nursing student at the University of Calgary, Hailee has a passion for health equity and accessibility. She has six years of experience as a support worker and is an avid volunteer in the disabilities community. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class and brings an unparalleled enthusiasm to our team.

Saniya Kahn

Training Development Lead

Saniya is a fourth-year undergraduate nursing student who aspires to become a pediatric nurse. As the sibling of a high-needs sister, she is a strong advocate for quality care and support for people with disabilities. She has been a support worker for more than 3 years and has worked at a summer camp for the past 3 summers with children who are medically fragile.

Kailey Howell-Spooner

Strategic Lead

Kailey draws upon her English degree from Queen's University and Public Relations Certification from Mount Royal University to build Enable’s brand presence in Calgary. She emphasizes the importance of creating and celebrating meaningful connections between people and across community organizations.

Caitlin Newton

Operations Coordinator

After having recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Sociology with a minor in Business, Caitlin returned to Mount Royal University to attain her Business Administration Certificate in Human Resources. She is the latest addition to the Enable team, bringing a passion for human resources and community development.
